I don't want to damage it. Also do you clean the foam seat with a damp cloth if the child wees on it?

The best thing to do is to check the instructions. If you bought it brand new it should have come with some. As far as cleaning it, I probably would use a damp cloth to clean it for sanitary reasons and then if the child consistently does that maybe consider keeping a pad on it. You can get some small pads in the elderly sanitary department which comes in handy for keeping chairs and beds pee free.
